●      Hardness:

In terms of hardness--Quartz countertops have extremely hard surfaces.it prevents bacterial growth. The color on quartz goes through, and scratches can be polished. It just requires a bar of mild soap and warm water to keep a quartz surface clean.

On the other side, Acrylic countertops are also hard surfaces that resist bacterial growth. However, they are not as hard as quartz surfaces, they can not resist scratches, dent, and scrape. They are reasonably easy to repair. Scratches can be easily polished by hand and small burns can be sanded away with fine-grit grinding paper.

Heat:

Quartz Countertops has an advantage over solid surface acrylic in handling high heat. You can easily put a hot pan or any hot utensil on top of a quartz countertop and it will not suffer a single patch or damage. Whereas, with Acrylic countertops, the situation is just the opposite. If a hot pan is kept on the top of an Acrylic, it will melt and discolor under high heat. It will suffer the damages that cannot be repaired.

Versatility:

Both quartz and acrylic countertops are versatile in their designs. Quartz can be manufactured in an endless range of colors, light colors, and even solid colors. They can both be produced to fit any shape or design. On the other side, the acrylic countertops can be manufactured with many different edge finishes, while quartz has fewer options.

Porous Or Nonporous:

Both acrylic and quartz countertops are nonporous materials- they do not allow bacteria to grow, or stain to resist, unlike other natural stone countertops.

Both materials are durable and are easy to clean. If you are in a need of a flawless finish, and your budget won’t allow you to stretch to quartz, then a solid surface countertop is your best choice. Otherwise, with superior toughness and a heat resistance quality, premium quartz outshines the other.
